TikTok Now seems to have essentially adopted this idea and incorporated it into its own platform, albeit with some additional security measures. In contrast, BeReal only lets you upload a photo and comment on your friends’ BeReal moments it doesn’t provide any other features. BeReal, a French app, provides a similar service by randomly notifying its users each day to snap a photo with their front and back cameras and share it with their friends and family. TikTok Now has drawn attention due in part to its striking resemblance to another popular app, BeReal. TikTok Now’s daily notifications encourage users to document their days with photos and videos captured with the front and rear cameras.
Launched in September 2022, TikTok Now is integrated into the base app rather than requiring users to install a separate piece of software.
